Held Without Bond in Oklahoma Criminal Law

When someone is held without bond it means that there is no amount of money they can post that will cause them to be released from custody. Sometimes someone is held without bond because of the seriousness of the case. This is most often happens in murder cases. Sometimes someone is held without bond because they "Failed to Appear". If a defendant is sentenced to a term of imprisonment they will be "held without bond".

Sometimes a defendant will be held without bond temporarily until a judge reviews the case and sets a bond. This frequently happens with domestic assault and battery cases.
