"The Record" in Oklahoma Criminal Law

When you hear a lawyer or a judge refer to "the record" they are either refering to the transcript being kept by the court reporter or the court minutes kept by the minute clerk. It is important for appellate purposes for lawyers to make a record regarding certain issues in the case. On appeal the record could either refer to the transcripts or the pleadings filed in the case. Sometimes the pleadings filed in a case are referred to the "Original Record" on appeal.
