A District Judge is highest level judge in Oklahoma, other than appellate court judges. There is a District Judge assigned to ever county in Oklahoma, but every county does not have its own District Judge. District Judges are either elected or appointed by the governor, and face election every four years. The other types of judges that are found in Oklahoma District Courthouses are magistrates and Associate District Judges.
